The police officer who was revered by the Manchester Airport attackers’ brothers as a ‘hero’ and a ‘role model’ has been unexpectedly suspended on an emergency basis due to a racism scandal, accused of mocking a colleague’s accent, and what was subsequently revealed has enraged the public even further.

HE WAS the respected “hero” and “role model” police officer who the infamous Manchester Airport attackers looked up to. But today, a staggering racism scandal has blown wide open, leaving the public absolutely furious.

The Sun can exclusively reveal that the police officer brother of the thugs filmed in a shocking, viral brawl with cops at Manchester Airport has been dramatically suspended.

And in a sensational twist that has sparked nationwide outrage, it turns out he was booted off the beat during a probe into vile racism—where a colleague’s accent was allegedly “mocked.”

Ever since the explosive, booze-fueled violence erupted at Manchester Airport in July 2024, supporters of Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, and Muhammad Amaad, 26, have loudly banged the drum about their family’s deep, historical ties to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

The mob claimed the family were blue-blooded royalty. Unbelievably, six relatives currently serve with the force, while their uncle, Nazir Hussain, was a highly respected officer for over three decades.

But behind the scenes, a dark secret was being swept under the carpet.

During two explosive trials, jurors listened to a glowing, tear-jerking character reference from the siblings’ elder brother, PC Mohammed Abid. In the gushing statement, PC Abid praised his youngest brother Amaaz’s “respectful, gentle, and soft-spoken nature.”

He proudly boasted to the court: “He’s always looked up to me as a role model.”

But the duped jury was kept completely in the dark about a shocking truth. PC Abid was already facing severe disciplinary proceedings after a sickening racism allegation.

In a staggering coincidence, he was one of eight officers dramatically suspended in the exact same month that his brothers were filmed launching a savage assault on airport cops. The emergency suspensions were triggered by complaints that a colleague’s accent had been cruelly “mocked.”

The violence at the airport shocked the nation. Footage showed Amaaz, dressed in blue, raining down a barrage of 10 brutal punches on defenseless officers, while his thug brother Amaad threw six.

Now, the revelation that their “role model” big brother was sidelined for alleged racism at the exact same time has left the public utterly enraged.

The brothers’ high-profile solicitor, Aamer Anwar, launched a furious tirade, claiming PC Abid’s identity had been leaked in a “desperate” bid to “smear” his clients.

“Sadly it comes as no surprise that Greater Manchester Police should now turn its attention to my clients’ brother,” Anwar spat.

The allegations against PC Abid stem from an incident in the Bury district back in December 2023, where an officer was allegedly subjected to a torrent of racist remarks by a colleague. PC Abid is understood to fiercely deny using racist language.

But the plot thickens. In May 2025, GMP top brass confirmed that eight officers—plus a ninth placed on restricted duties—have been found to have a case to answer for gross misconduct.

And that is not all. A completely separate, sickening racism probe by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been rocketing through the same Bury district, involving seven officers.

That inquiry was triggered in the most embarrassing way possible—after vile, racist comments were accidentally recorded on a suspect’s mobile phone.

As part of that investigation, one rogue cop, PC Scott Dixon, has already been sacked. It is understood he was booted out of the force for using the deeply offensive word “golliwog” towards a fellow officer.

Furious members of the public have taken to social media to blast the force, with one saying: “They lecture us about respect, but look at what’s happening behind closed doors. It’s a total joke!”

Detective Chief Superintendent Mike Allen, head of professional standards at GMP, admitted both allegations were “deeply concerning.”

He added: “Ensuring we uphold the highest standards of professional behaviour across GMP is essential, and it is only right that when matters such as these are reported to us, we take all necessary action.”

GMP strongly denies leaking the explosive details, but the damage is done. The “perfect” police family image has been shattered into a million pieces.
