Jenna Bush Hager Celebrates Daughter Mila’s 13th Birthday: “Time Really Does Fly!” 🎉💖

Jenna Bush Hager is officially the proud mom of a teenager!  On April 13, as Mila celebrated her 13th birthday, Jenna shared her excitement and disbelief on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle. Co-host Sheinelle Jones couldn’t help but remark, “You officially have a teenager!” and Jenna was quick to reflect on just how quickly time has flown by. 

On Instagram, Jenna posted a sweet photo of herself hugging Mila with the caption: “Happiest birthday to my dream girl.”  And for a truly nostalgic moment, she shared a throwback picture of Mila as a newborn, adding, “How was this day — that made me a mama — 13 years ago?” The heartfelt tribute was followed by an emotional video of Jenna and baby Mila sharing a quiet, tender moment together. 

From Baby Shower to Birth: Jenna’s Unforgettable Mila Arrival Story

Jenna took a stroll down memory lane, remembering the unforgettable moment when Mila’s water broke — at her baby shower!  “All of a sudden my water burst, and everyone had different reactions,” Jenna laughed. “There was one man, the caterer, who threw a paper towel roll and walked out the door!” Despite the chaos, Jenna’s sense of humor remained strong as she jokingly added, “People who were pregnant there started crying out of fear!”

Teenhood: A New Chapter for Jenna and Mila

Now that Mila is stepping into her teenage years, Jenna is embracing the exciting changes. “If I told Mila what to wear, she would laugh at me,” Jenna shared with Sheinelle, acknowledging Mila’s growing independence. It’s a bittersweet moment for Jenna and her husband, Henry Hager, as they realize their little girl is becoming her own person. “I think we hit that milestone where she’s her own person,” Jenna added. “I remember thinking, ‘Oh, she’s going to go trick-or-treating with her friends, and I’m not going to be in her memories — and that’s good.’”

Though Mila is growing more independent, Jenna and Henry are soaking up every moment with their “dream girl.” Jenna shared how quickly time passes: “She’s going to love that I talked about it on the show,” she joked, knowing Mila will certainly enjoy the public shout-out.
