In a new ABC special, Life Interrupted, Isabella shares her journey from a cancer diagnosis just as she was about to start college in 2023, to being cancer-free in the summer of 2024. She tells the world that her cancer battle doesn’t define her — it’s just part of her story.
“Obviσusly, you can’t predict what can happen, and that’s a little scary,” Isabella shared, “But I don’t think you can solely live in fear. I think I should live every day. Take every opportunity.”
Her father, Michael Strahan, emotionally recalled the toughest times, saying, “One of the things she said, probably the hardest thing I had to hear was, ‘Dad, I’ll do whatever. I want to live.’”
Now, Isabella wants to be a voice for other cancer patients and share her experience to help others. She said, “I see the impact that can come from sharing my experience. My diagnosis is part of me, but it doesn’t define me.”

While Isabella is determined to stay positive, her father remains concerned, especially as her doctors are cautiously optimistic about her future. “Her doctors feel very confident she’s going to be fine, but you’re nervous every time. That will never go away,” Michael revealed.![]()
