Alyssa Farah Griffin Is Rushing Back To โThe Viewโ After Just Two Months Of Maternity Leave
Alyssa Farah Griffinย will officially reprise her seat atย The Viewย hot topics table after almost two months away from the show.
Whoopi Goldbergย announced during Thursdayโs (April 2) broadcast that Griffin will be returning after the show takes its annual Easter hiatus.
โWe are thrilled to let you know that Alyssa will be returning to the table when we come back live after the holidays,โ Goldberg shared on the show.
Though she did not share an exact date,ย Entertainment Weeklyย reports Griffin is set to return Monday, April 13, after the show takes a week-long hiatus beginning April 6.
Griffin has been on maternity leave since Feb. 10, when sheย went into laborย a bit earlier than expected, causing her to miss her last few shows before her maternity leave was set to begin the following week.
Goldberg announced the happy news during the broadcast. โI donโt know if you saw the show yesterday, but it turned out Alyssa was right aboutย Bad Bunnyโs halftime showย putting her into labor,โ Goldberg said, referring to the joke Griffin made in the previous episode. โIt put her into labor! Sheโs at the hospital right now.โ
Goldberg continued, โWe are wishing her the best as she waits for her baby to arrive. Itโs kind of fabulous.โ
Griffin gave birth to Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., her first child, on Feb. 10. The longtimeย Viewย host had been open about her struggles with IVF. When she announced the news onย The Viewย in October 2025, she admitted she was โso excited.โ
โBaby boy Griffin arrives in February,โ she said at the time. โIโm so overjoyed and Iโve shared with all of you, I went through IVF. It was hard, it took us about a year. It took five rounds but heโs here, heโs coming. Iโm so happy to have the most supportive husband in the world, Justin.โ
Griffinโs absence was certainly felt asย The Viewย continued without her.
Several television personalities have filled in for Griffin throughout her maternity leave, including controversial formerย Viewย hostsย Elisabeth Hasselbeckย andย Abby Huntsman.ย Amanda Carpenter, ย Sheryl Underwood, comedianย Whitney Cummings, andย Savannah Chrisleyย also guest hosted, as did Sara Eisen.
After Cummings completes her week guest hosting this Friday April 3, the show will take a break before returning with Griffin right back in her seat beside Sunny Hostin on April 13.
