Pineapple has long been a common fruit on our tables, and although it is a tropical plant and does not grow in our climate, it is still often brought to our country. In the past, during the tsarist era, pineapples were grown in greenhouses, but now this is not so relevant, since we can easily buy them.

Many people are attracted to the idea of growing a pineapple on their windowsill, and to do so they don’t have to look for seeds, just use the top of the pineapple.
The top of a pineapple serves as an excellent seedling for a future plant. There are two ways to do this.
First Way
It consists of removing the dry leaves and placing the strand in water to root it. It is important to dry the cutting beforehand to prevent it from rotting.
Once the roots appear, the seedling can be transplanted into the soil.
Second Way
This involves planting the tip directly into the soil after removing the pulp and drying it for 1 to 2 weeks. Rooting will take some time, and when the tuft begins to grow, it is a sign of root development.
The pineapple belongs to the bromeliad family and grows similarly to other members of this family. After rooting in a small container, it should be transplanted to a larger one and flowering should be expected in 2-3 years.
The pineapple blossom produces a fruit that is smaller than the mother but still tasty and edible. The taste of homemade pineapple can surpass store-bought pineapple because it ripens directly on the branch, unlike imported pineapples that are cut unripe.
I decided to root the pineapple in water, this is the method I like best. I will follow the development of the roots and share the results.
I wish you good luck in this exciting activity!
