First lady Melania Trump calls out Jimmy Kimmel for ‘atrocious behavior’
“His monologue about my family isn’t comedy,” the first lady said in a post on X. “His words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.”
WASHINGTON — First lady Melania Trump is calling out Jimmy Kimmel for “atrocious behavior,” and President Donald Trump wants the late night host fired over the comedian’s recent jabs at the president, their marriage, and other members of the Trump administration.
Kimmel on Thursday delivered a fake monologue presented as though he were speaking at the White House Correspondents’ Association’s annual dinner set to take place on Saturday, jesting that the first lady had a “glow like an expectant widow” and calling the president a “delicate snowflake” and a “trembling drama queen who’s scared of comedy.”
Two nights later, a gunman rushed through a security checkpoint at the hotel and opened fire on a floor above where the actual event was taking place. A Secret Service officer was injured but has since been released from the hospital. No other injuries were reported, and members of the Trump administration who were in attendance were safely evacuated as soon as gunfire was heard outside the gala.
The first lady shared a post on X, urging ABC to “take a stand.”

“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”
In a Monday afternoon social media post, President Trump characterized Kimmel’s monologue as a “call to violence” and said “Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC.”
